I have to admit I have been hanging on to Firefox like an old security blanket. My new colleagues here at Oomph were trying to pressure me into making the switch over to Chrome for some time. So last week, I felt enough pressure to conduct a little experiment. I tested Chrome vs. Firefox on the biggest data hog of a website I knew, Nike Running. I had just run the Boston Marathon a few weeks back and recorded the whole run with my Nike+ Sports watch. Nike’s site allows you to watch a video of your run on their website. So I opened two browsers and sent Chrome and Firefox off to the races.

Chrome finished the marathon and Firefox was still on mile 9. It wasn’t even a contest. So needless to say I was not surprised by the news that came out this week that Chrome had surpassed Internet Explorer as the most popular Web Browser in the world.

Are you ready to make the switch?

Patrick, you are spot on. After years of using Firefox for it’s development tools, I was hard-pressed to switch to a new browser. I used pingdom.com to test browser speeds and have data supporting the same conclusion. Chrome is the winner.

What do you think?
