Clean homepage with a Facebook activity stream Rob Yaffe has run a successful vegetarian restaurant – The Garden Grille – for the past 20 years. Recently he and his business partner/wife saw a need in the bakery market – there were no local bakeries that specialize in vegan goods, and there are very few that offer fresh juices and gluten-free options. It seems like a very California idea, but he knew it could work in New England with a little effort. A few years later, Wildlflour opened its doors.
The classically simple logo was designed by RISD student, but the final execution is all Oomph. We embarked on a series of print pieces first – print ads, menu, signage, labels, business cards – and then moved on to the website. The interior design of the space greatly inspired the look and feel of their branding material – modern, spacious, but warm and cozy. We call the combination of slate floors, natural wood surfaces, and the bright citrus colors “modern Zen”. Think typical Swiss or German modern but done in a very West Coast way.
The website is built on WordPress and uses the NextGen gallery plug-in to manage the homepage slideshow. Daily Specials have already been something that the Facebook page did well, and so instead of reinventing the wheel, we brought in the activity stream right onto the homepage.
